Delete your Klartakt account

You can delete your Klartakt account yourself, at any time, without asking us. Deleting the account also deletes the learning data attached to it. This page explains both routes and what happens to your data.

From inside the app — the fastest way

Open Klartakt and sign in.
Tap your avatar, top right.
Open Account.
Choose Delete account.
We email you a confirmation link. Open that link to finish the deletion.

The confirmation email exists on purpose: nobody can delete your account without access to your inbox, not even someone holding your unlocked phone.

By email, if you cannot open the app

Write to [email protected] from the email address your account uses, with the subject Delete my account. We reply from the same address and confirm once the deletion is done.

If you write from a different address we will ask you to confirm ownership first — otherwise anyone knowing your email could have your account erased.

What is deleted

Your account and sign-in identity (email, Google or Apple).
Your profile: display name, username and avatar.
Your learning data: progress, review schedule, streak, statistics and study sessions.
Words, lists and phrases you added yourself.
Your Gespräch conversations.
Class memberships, friends, and the notification tokens for your devices.

What is kept, and why

Purchase and billing records are held by Google Play or Apple, not by us. Tax law requires those records to be retained; we cannot delete them on your behalf. Contact the store for anything related to a payment or a refund.
Anonymous, aggregated counts — for example "how many people studied today" — remain, because they contain nothing that points back to you.
Backups roll over on their own schedule. Deleted data disappears from them within 30 days.

How long it takes

Deletion from the live service is immediate once you open the confirmation link. Backup copies are gone within 30 days. Deletion is permanent — an account cannot be restored, and the learning history that went with it cannot be recovered.

Want to stop the reminders but keep your progress? You do not need to delete anything — turn notifications off under Profile → Settings → Preferences, or sign out. Your data stays where it is.
